Learn music production with Ableton Live in one-on-one lessons for students in the London area. Whether you're an absolute beginner or a seasoned veteran wanting to expand your skills I'm sure I'll be able to help.

I prefer to travel to wherever you have your studio (or laptop) setup and teach right from the comfort of your own home with a setup you are familiar with. I will always tailor what we cover to your skill level and whatever it is that you want to learn.

Topics that I teach include (but are certainly not limited to):

  • Getting Started with Ableton Live
  • Sound Design
  • Synthesis & Synthesis Hardware
  • iOS Music Production
  • Sampling
  • Creative Automation & Effects
  • Using 3rd Party Plugins
  • MIDI Controllers & Live Electronic Performance
  • Electronic Music History
  • MaxForLive
  • Mixing
  • Mastering
  • Critical Listening
  • Marketing Yourself & Releasing Your Music

I have been teaching Ableton Live professionally since 2012, on both a private basis as well as with group classes at institutions such as SAE Institute, Cape Town. As an Ableton Certified Trainer I am one of just over 300 people around the world selected by Ableton as persons who are highly skilled in the use and instruction of Ableton Live. You can see my profile on the Ableton site here.

Laptop, iPad, Mic

How much does it cost?

£30 for 1hr

£55 for 2hr

£80 for 3hrs

I would highly recommend a 2hr session as 1hr always seems to feel too short and 3hrs can be a little long - 2hrs is a nice sweet spot.

The fees include the actual lesson time, lesson prep and any additional correspondence before and after the lesson. The fee also includes travel time, within reason - there may be an additional charge if I need to travel quite a way to get to you but I will let you know if there are any extra costs well before your lesson.

If you would like to book a number of lessons (5hrs+), please let me know and I can arrange a bit of a discount depending on how many hours you would like to book.

I look forward to helping you grow your knowledge!

Cheers, Tom
